Are you like me? Do you read about a place and say "I've got to go THERE soon"?  That's how I am all the time; it's both a curse and a blessing.  I'm happiest when I'm learning something, and I believe travel to be the best educator. The more I explore, the more I realize how much MORE I need to explore.

MY TRAVELS

Along the way, I've encountered all 7 continents, all 50 United States and over 90 nations.  But it's not about the numbers, some of my visits are brief, but many are extended.  I'm always thinking about where I can travel to next, and researching the destinations that I'm contemplating. I read maps as often as I read books, often day-dreaming and putting myself into the map itself. The truth is, I contemplate eventually going everywhere, so I read about the world any chance I get.

Frank's Nations Visited Tracker

Below are a few links to a some of the places you can find me on the web.  Virtual Tourist is an amateur travel community where I've been the longest, and I've contributed information about many places in the world there.  On TravBuddy, I've uploaded larger groups of photos in more of a chronological Blog format.  I also use CouchSurfing to connect to other travelers when I'm wandering, and also for hosting other travelers locally.

MY LIFE

I claim the fine city of Baltimore as my home, but I also live part-time in Cincinnati for my job as a commercial pilot. I love most ethnic foods. Thai is my favorite, but I also enjoy Punjabi, Lebanese, Japanese (sushi) and Greek. Give it to me Spicy! I've worked in Japan as a Sushi chef; and have attended local cooking classes in Thailand and India.

Though I love the occasional big event, I'm more comfortable in smaller, more intimate, groups of people.  My wanderlust sometimes comes at the expense of relationships.

I'm an avid reader of history, culture, food, religion, geography, politics and language; basically all of the things that geographers use to define 'place.' ..... it's all worth discovering.  I graduated with a Geography/Mapping degree, but instead pursued a career in the aviation industry. Can you say 'Free Travel'?   Though I'm happiest when I'm discovering some thing or some place new, that is not restricted to international destinations. I can find joy in my local explorations as well.

ABOUT ME & FRIENDSHIPS

I tend to maintain long-term friendships with people who are positive and adventurous, with a flair for life, and are relatively easy going;   These people can usually grab a few things from the house, and be on the road in minutes! I've found that I'm just more comfortable with those who can see 'the big picture', instead of focusing on what's wrong or who to blame.  I've been on both sides, and this way is stress-free.    I like people who work to live, and not the opposite.  I love my career, but it doesn't define me.  I try very hard to hold myself to the same standards that I expect from others.
